Against a backdrop of accelerating economic and financial transformation across Africa, strengthening synergies between banking institutions is a key driver of growth and regional integration.
In this context, ETC has reached a new strategic milestone by joining the Vice Presidency of the Club of African Bank and Credit Institution Leaders (CDBECA), following the appointment of its President, Mr. Anco Marzio Lenardon.
Established in January 1989 in Lomé, Togo, the Club is one of Africa’s leading pan-African platforms for dialogue and exchange among banking executives. It brings together senior leaders of African banks, including Presidents, Vice Presidents, Chief Executive Officers and Deputy Chief Executive Officers, around a clear mission: to meet its members’ information and training needs and foster strategic reflection on the objectives and means of action of Africa’s banking sector.
Over the years, the Club has established itself as a key platform for the modernization of financial services across the continent. Its Annual Meetings, organized around topics of shared interest, its Top Management Summer Universities, and its Think Tank all contribute to anticipating and addressing the sector’s evolving challenges.
The Club’s work is enriched by regular exchanges with major international and regional institutions, including the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the African Development Bank (AfDB), the West African Development Bank (BOAD), the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO), the Bank of Central African States (BEAC), as well as leading European partners.
ETC’s appointment to the Club’s Vice Presidency is fully aligned with our mission: to provide the African regional market and its international partners with tailored financial instruments that support trade and investment in pursuit of responsible growth.
By joining the leadership of this strategic institution, we reaffirm our commitment to actively contributing to discussions on the evolution of financial instruments in Africa. We aim to promote innovation in support of trade and investment and to advance the sustainable transformation of the banking sector.
This appointment further strengthens our commitment at the heart of Africa’s financial ecosystem. It reflects our ambition to work alongside the continent’s leading decision-makers to help build a more integrated and efficient financial environment that is better equipped to meet the challenges of Africa’s economic development.
